Know your costs. Down to the ingredient.

COGS analytics breaks down your true cost of goods sold by order and by raw material. Daily overview reports give you the operational pulse of your facility in a single view.

ANALYTICS

COGS & Daily Overview

Comprehensive cost analysis and daily operational reporting that gives you visibility into what your products actually cost to produce.

COGS is calculated as order quantity times BOM quantity-per-unit times raw material cost-per-unit, summed across all materials in a recipe. This formula traces the actual cost of every ingredient through the Bill of Materials into each finished product and ultimately into each order. The denormalized cogs field on each order enables fast reporting without recalculation, so dashboard views load instantly even across thousands of orders.

The COGS dashboard view shows total orders, total materials, total COGS, and average COGS per order at a glance. Top-10 cost driver rankings identify both your most expensive raw materials and your most expensive orders, helping you focus cost reduction efforts where they will have the greatest impact. Date range filtering lets you compare costs across periods — month over month, quarter over quarter, or any custom range. Cancelled orders are excluded from all calculations to keep your analytics accurate.

The daily overview operates in two modes — by date or by lot code. Date mode shows orders created and completed, items manufactured, lots created, raw material receipts, total movements, and total COGS for a specific day, giving you a complete operational snapshot. Lot code mode shows every transaction related to a specific lot, from creation through consumption or shipment. Both modes include drilldown detail views with timeline entries from the system log, so you can trace exactly what happened and when.

Reports include user activity, operations summary, manufacturing, movements, orders (sales by customer, sales by product, fulfillment breakdown, on-time delivery percentage, and lifecycle timing), compliance, and trends — all exportable as CSV or Excel for external analysis. For order-level COGS detail, see Orders. For BOM cost structure, see Production.

How It Works

Open the COGS dashboard to see total costs, average COGS per order, and top cost drivers at a glance. The dashboard aggregates data across all active orders, giving you immediate visibility into your overall cost position.

Filter by date range to compare periods and identify cost trends. Drill into a specific order to see exactly which raw materials drove its cost, with quantities and unit prices traced through the BOM to the final COGS figure.

Switch to the daily overview to see all operations for a specific date — orders created and completed, manufacturing runs, material movements, and total COGS generated that day. Use lot code mode to trace every transaction involving a specific batch, from its creation through every consumption or transfer. Export any report as CSV or Excel for external analysis, budgeting, or sharing with stakeholders.
